Useful Information

Life is not always easy. In fact, sometimes it's very difficult. We strive to be a place that offers comfort and support in the midst of life's storms, as well as a community that rejoices in life's celebrations. Peace, comfort, and joy are found through our relationships with god and each other.

Since its beginning in 1997, the mission of DayBreak Community Church has remained the same, to reach people searching for acceptance, forgiveness, and hope, in order to help them become followers of Jesus Christ.

We accomplish this mission by being a community of Christ followers who show our love for God and one another in the way we worship, serve, and do life together.

At DayBreak Community Church, we believe that every person is a unique creation of God. God has expressed His love for us by sending His son, Jesus Christ. Through Jesus' death on the cross, we can be forgiven and enter into a personal relationship with God.

By trusting in Jesus as our Savior and leader, we are given new life. The Holy Spirit empowers us and gives us peace as we seek to be God's hands and feet in the world.

Here is a list of how our church stands:

Our Goal:
To build a Biblical functioning community of caring and loving Christians.

Our Mission:
To reach seekers and help them become disciples of Jesus Christ.

A. The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the true Word of God. It was written under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21)

B. The Trinity
We believe in one true merciful and loving God, eternally existing as the Creator, the Son - Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

C. God the Creator
We believe in God the Creator, who embodies all holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that God acts with mercy and love toward all people, that God hears and answers prayer, and that God saves from sin all who seek forgiveness and reconciliation through Jesus Christ. Throughout history, God has sent His angels to inform, direct, and protect God’s servants.

D. Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, fully human, yet fully divine. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus lived a sinless life, performed many miracles, and boldly demonstrated God’s love and grace. We believe in Christ’s death on the cross to pay the price for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His return to Heaven, and His ongoing presence in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit. To the Christian, Jesus is not only our Savior, but also our Ruler and Lord. (John 3:16, Hebrews 4:14, Philippians 2:9-11)

E. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit as the continuing presence of God in the world. The Holy Spirit brings new life and power to all who believe in God through Christ and lives within every follower of Jesus as an ever-present helper, counselor, teacher and guide. (John 14:26, 16:8, 13; I Corinthians 3:16)

F. New Life
We believe that every person, at times, has turned away from God in sin. Because none of us are perfect, we all need forgiveness from God and each other. Those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus as their Savior are promised forgiveness of their sins, are led to seek reconciliation with one another, and are given new life in Christ for all eternity. As we grow in this new life, the Holy Spirit leads us to truly put Christ first in our lives as Lord of all. (John 3:16; Romans 3:24-26)

G. Church
We believe that Jesus is the head of the Christian Church of which all Believers are members. A local church is not a building, but people. We believe that at the core of the local Christian Church should be a loving and supportive community of Believers who gather for worship, Holy Communion, fellowship, and service in the world. We believe that God has laid upon these Believers the primary tasks of:
1. Reaching out and sharing the Good News of Jesus with people who are  seeking after truth and inviting them into a saving relationship with Him;
2. Offering baptism to all who claim the name of Christ;
3. Nurturing, teaching, and helping one another to grow, in their faith in God.        ( I Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 2:42-45 )

H. Christian Community
We believe that each person has direct access to God through prayer. But, we also recognize that wherever two or more Christians are gathered in His name, Christ promises to be present with them. Christian Community is the arena where an individual can grow to be a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Support, learning, fellowship, and prayer can take place as we come together in small groups, as well as gathering in larger settings. (Matthew 18:19-20)

I. The Sacraments
We believe that the Lord Jesus gave two sacraments to the Church: Baptism and Holy Communion. In line with Reformed tradition, we believe that Infant Baptism and later Confirmation, or Adult Baptism, are valid ways of making a public and visible statement of one’s commitment to following Christ. Baptism is recognition of God’s claim upon us as children of God. Communion is a holy meal of remembrance, in which we share bread and juice in recognition of Christ’s great sacrifice of his own body and blood on the cross for our salvation. (Matthew 26:26-30)

J. Church Cooperation
We believe that each church is part of Christ’s Church. We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another. Such cooperation builds up the Body of Christ and pleases the Lord
